Lights under your motorhome to keep mice away
Is there any truth to light under your coach when parked to keep mice away from getting into your coach.

I believe that light may work for keeping pack rats away?
However me thinks lighting under a coach only helps mice and other critters see better at night.

Yes, it's a deterrent for pack rats and other critters that do not like [day] light. \ken

Maybe if the light is from an auto tracking / firing laser weapon of some sort? Otherwise no value methinks.

Probably only deters night critters that don't like light. Otherwise, nope. Just makes it easier for them to find the holes so they can get in.

Rope lights absolutely prevents pack rats. But if you are not in the southwest, no pack rats.

Maybe I needed lights to prevent a groundhog from chewing up the sound insulation in my diesel engine compartment and the hood liner in my toad.

I am not sure how to know forsure.......
but we keep ours plugged in,,,, and plug in those small rodent devices (make a high pitch sounds that humans can't hear) and we never have mice!
I guess we would have to try a winter without to know forsure they are why we have none,,,, but not going to do that.

We have used these devices for years, thinking they were the solution.
This year the mice army marched in and set up camp right beside the devices!
We had to turn to good old mousetraps loaded with peanut butter.
It took a bit of work, but it looks like we got them.

I should have mentioned,,,, they don't work forever like any other electronic device,,,,, and how would we know they are working????? till the mice move it. It is recomended they be periodicaly refreshed.
They are not expensive.

We've also had good luck with the electronic devices. I keep one plugged in the storage bay.
My neighbor has had issues with mice making nests atop his engine manifold. He installed blinking LEDS and they've never come back.
