Hi, I am new to this forum but an oldtime RV'er and DIY'er. I just purchased a used motorhome (05) that has SCS/Frigette Coach Step Model #725-0022, that will not operate the steps in either direction. I have the original Owners Manual and used their troubleshooting guide to diagnoise a faulty module. I read on a previous post to this forum that Lippert Components is the current source for parts. But their module is priced at $225.90 +Frt. Since the motor is just an electric window motor and available dramatically cheaper than Lippert offers one for, does anyone know a cheaper option to get around this high priced boat anchor they call a module. I had rather put that much money for one component of an old system towards a complete new step assy. I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has been down this road before. Thanks Jim

Try www.flightsystems.com - they rebuild electronic modules for Kwikee steps and maybe they can help you with yours.

Thanks for all your help. RV Mech Tech, Flight Systems said they might be able to repair my module, no guarantee. They had little experience with SCS/Frigette boards. Spike, R & K Products had a much better price than Lippert Componenets, $159.95 vs. $225.90, and it was in stock. Pretty high for a small, uncomplicated board, but better and cheaper than changing out the entire step assy. Jim

Well, this is the story of my life. The "Stromberg Carlson" web site says they are the distributor for Lippert Components, ie, SCS/Frigette Coach Step parts and list the controller, their P/N SP-164889, at $128.10. Hope this research helps someone else who is in the same boat as me.
