I have a 2005 Monaco Diplomat with three slides. The Carfree of Colorado slide toppers are not taught enough in my opinion. The main slide topper is droopy at the front and sags/pools with the smallest amount of water. Has anyone had problems with this.

I called Carefree and they said the awning spring can be turned one turn to tighten up the awning. It sounded fairly easy if you have two people. I hate taking anything back to the dealer because they're jerks and it's a big ordeal. Has anyone done this adjustment or hear/have any problems with making this adjustment?

I had the same problem---definitely not a dealer trip item!

On my Care Free's--it's the right arm(facing the awning) that has the spring--one person can easily do the job.

One bolt---2-7/16ths wrenches,step-ladder.
Remove the bolt and hold on to the arm(really not that difficult)and tighten one turn. Place the bolt back in and see if the awning is tight enough.

Don, something to ponder, if you get the spring too tight, the sidewall mount may pull loose or the fabric may stretch. I know it's sort of pain to have the large puddle in the topper, but the cure may be more dangerous than the disease.

If the ends are tight, but the center is drooping, there are ways to prop up the middle; some commercial props or homemade PVC rigs.
