Yes, same devices. I usually check the pressures with the TPMS a couple of days prior to a trip. If I need air, I use my small A/C powered compressor to add a few pounds. I use a digital gauge to check pressures afterwards. The digital gage and the TPMS are within a half a pound in their readings.

living in AR, with your humidity levels, you are probably putting a bit of water in the tires. Doesn't take much humidity in the tires to make the pressures change a bunch.
