Loud pop when slide comes in

The top right corner of the living room slide sticks and pops really loud when I bring the slide in. This has been going on for a few months. I found that I could ease or illuminate the pop by bringing the slide in a little then going back out, however, this last time that did not work and the pop was louder than ever and I noticed a small, thin broken piece of metal with teeth that looks like it runs the length of the slide.
Now I'm not sure if I should let the slide out. Help!

Do you have a Lippert In-Wall Schwintek System?

Dual motor driven rack.......motors/drive assembly behind 'wiper' seals.

Sounds like gear rack broken and motor spur gear damage

1 of my 3 slides cracks/pops when retracting since new, sounds like wood. Lift up carpet, look around molding, check seals, awnings, gear train and rollers. Have another person run controls while you investigate.
Full Timers.
