Love bugs..ugh! Been in Fl most of my life...I'd take humidity over love bugs anyday! Just make sure if you're traveling to FL to carry dryer sheets with you. And they work and they are cheap. Wet them, wipe off the vehicle, then wash the area with soap and water...all gone...until you pull outta your drive way!

Man I hate those bugs!
X's 2: Just did trip to Disney, by coincidence had waxed the front cap over the windshield before leaving, but did not have time to wax under windshield, got home covered with the little buggers, they washed off the waxed area with ease, took significant scrubbing to get off other area, mirrors were another story!

Wax up!!

We are leaving on Friday for WDW. I'm hoping this quick cool snap will get them back underground...

We drove from South GA to Fort Wilderness on Sunday and they were out in force, could barely see out the windshield when we got here. Started working on them Monday morning and pretty much have the coach clean now. Had Rejex on the front cap below the windshield and with a little work with dryer sheets it came up pretty clean. We have not seen many of the bugs since we parked, but I guess that is normal for here since bugs are not allowed on Disney property .

I discovered something interesting about Love Bugs recently. I was at my storage area working on my MH and didn't see any Love Bugs until I fired up my generator....within 2 minutes the air was full of them. Next day I paid closer attention and sure enough, once I started the gen, here they come!

We are going to be pulling into Fort Wilderness on Saturday .. are you still going to be there? And is the park busy? We are hoping that there would be less crowds in Sept/October.

The females seek decaying vegetation to incubate their eggs.

Exhaust fumes smell similar to them.

That is why there are so many near or on roads.

Class dismissed. No quiz today.

Wow Rejex works like magic! Love bugs are out in force today - especially on I-75 towards Tampa/Orlando. Got to the Rv park and just hosed them off with very little effort!!!!!! Worth every penny and the time it took to put the Rejex on/off. Thank you Forum Folks!😀😀😀😀

Our first trip to this part of the country. We had never heard of love bugs before, but boy did we get introduced to them. Luckily, we had waxed the RV prior to our trip so that has helped. We were able to find a car wash and got the bugs cleaned off. We are currently in Destin FL and will leave on Tuesday for Biloxi and then New Orleans. We hope that they will be gone by then, probably wishful thinking!

Been bragging on Rejex for years. Great stuff, I use it on the entire outside of the coach, windshield, windows, and even the polished aluminum wheels.

On the inside of the coach I use it on the fiberglass shower. Makes cleaning a breeze.

Having lived in north Florida since 1974 and having to deal with the bugs twice a year I still use what an ole timer showed me 30 years ago...Two cans of PAM on the front of the motorhome at the beginning of the season and wash off with soap n water when the infestation is over. Works every time and cheap!
