Unhappy Love Bugs - Oh No

Saw the first love bugs at the house today for the late summer hatch. Suggest everyone traveling the south/southeast to get a good coat of wax on front of all vehicles. I do not let them stay on vehicle more than a day or two as they can stain and each day become more difficult to remove.

Man I hate those bugs!

I hate those things too. Last couple of years the Gulf Coast hasn't been hit too bad ... so here's hoping that the little buggers stay way south!

Rejex is a great product to use. As their ad says " nothing sticks to it but the shine. "

I've been reading about that product here on the forum. Think I will get me some and try it. My only concern is keeping the MH out of the elements for the 8 + hours it tells you to do so after you put it on. I don't have a covered area for my MH right now.

That would be ideal however I did the entire MH twice a year outside in the elements. I did try to do each side in the shade of the day. It seemed to workout fine.

RejeX
I also use Rejex and apply it in the fall and spring when it is cooler. As Clifftail I apply it in the shade. I also apply it to the roof. I check the weather and hope it doesn't rain in the next couple of days. I also apply a coat to the front before each trip for extra protection.

I also use it on our other vehicles so I buy it by the gallon (cheaper) and pour it into smaller containers for use. Shelf life if stored right is 2 years.

Just did ...

I just did the front of my MH preparing for our trip to Disney World the end of the week. I thought y'all said it is easier to wipe off than wax or RainX?????? Well .... I'm exhausted Took me almost 2 hours to do just the front of the MH (windshield included). Guess I'm really getting old. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will do the trick with the love bugs and other bugs. And hoping it will help us see out of the windshield during Florida's downpours as well. Our windshield wipers leave a bit to be desired.

Love Bugs - Oh No

They have been in NE Fl since labor day. We came over to Stephen Foster at White Springs Friday. They have taken over our site every day about mid day since. Our spring flight was real sparse.

Love?

Best solution for Love Bugs is simply to get them off the RV ASAP. If washed off right after arrival at your destination, they are easy to remove.

Love Bugs have no natural predatators. They are very toxic to the paint.

Don't let them dry onto your rig!
