Made an OOOOOPS

After spending a week camping and fishing, came home, went to a local station to dump the tanks and refuel the rig.
Pulling under one of the islands, I heard something no owner wants to hear.
The pics should be explaination enough. And this is on a four month old rig.

One way to create an opening for a skylight........not one I would recommend.

I should have added that my DW was not pleased in any way, shape or form.
No, I have used the same station before with our other rigs and had no problem.
Afterwards, I find the Fleetwood has a clearance of 12'10" to the top of the A/C.
Evidently, all the other rigs were lower buy a good deal.
Found out later one of the canopies is at 13'6". The one I hit didn't have any marking as to clearance until a day or two after I hit it.

I can relate to getting your ear bent. I once had a class C and used to carry a canoe on the roof. Well one day I was backing out of a somewhat tight campsite with a few overhanging trees.. Long story short, the canoe went sideways and the roof rack took on some major damage. The air turned suddenly blue.
There's a million stories in the big RV World. This has been two of them.

All I can say is...bet you won't do it again. That sucks. We've all got our war stories to tell.

If it makes you feel any better, I took out an ATM at a drive through with the rear end of my MH many, many years ago.

I almost done the same thing. Years ago we bought a new fifth wheel and when I brought it home from the dealer I was backing into the RV garage that we had at that time.
At the last second I got out to check things out and realized the new trailer was higher than I thought. I had just touched the A/C and put a small crease on it, Had I continued I would have achieved the same result as you did. The entrance to the RV garage was about 2 inches too low. I did not tell DW about that until much later.
