Yes, the panel does have a 50A max setting. However, your reply got me thinking, so I checked the breaker panel, and the breaker that feeds the inverter is 30A, so setting the 'shore max' to anything higher than 30A, would be pointless, correct?

Ben,

I would agree with you to a point. The part I am having a question about is does what the inverter is converting to DC power to charge the batteries count against the total for the 30A breaker for the pass through on the inverter itself. If yes then I agree that setting shore power above 30A would be pointless. If not then setting shore power at 30A regardless of generator or shore power might in some instances limit battery charging. Still mulling this one over.

Don't know if this helps or not, but I've seen the charge amps on the panel well into the 80's (DC), while the shore amps setting is 10A.

Tried an experiment with one of my inverters and if I switch off the 30A breaker for that inverters loads the charger still charges so my gut feeling is the charge amps are not counted towards the 30A inverter breaker limit.

Thank's Don!
That's good to know. Couple of times now you've helped me out with electrical questions.
Appreciate it !!
