In my 5th wheel I replaced the crappy rv mattress with a real queen bed from Sam's and loved it. The current coach has the tempurpedic queen and sleeps comfortably. If you are unfortunate to have a rv sized short matttress, your options are limited in mattresses. I tried a memory foam topper from Walmart on the 5th wheel before the real mattress and worked for a while but eventually gave up the ghost. It was the newer "cool type" memory foam.

If you can fit a real mattress, go that route.

We tried a foam mattress topper, and boy did that thing get hot while we were sleeping on it. Lasted all of one trip. Wife wanted a memory foam mattress, but I was hesitant based on the topper. Ended up replacing the factory mattress with a memory foam with some kind of cooling gels or something and it has been great.
