Michelin Best Price?
I'm looking to replace my tires with the same Michelin's. What's the best installed full service price I should expect to pay for 22.5/XRVs? Like a lot of you I'm a member of a lot things; FMCA, Freightliner, CAT, Winnebago, Good Sam, etc. Can we get a discount for any of these things? Look's like I can get them uninstalled for half price from Costco but can't find anyone I trust to install them?? Help, please, thanks.

You'll need to post a size ie: 235, 255, 275 etc.if you want a specific answer not that I can answer it. Maybe someone else will.

I bought mine at Costco. I called the local truckstop and got the name of the tire guy they use for road calls. He came to me and mounted the tires.I think he charged $35 per tire.

Just had two new 255/80R 22.5 XRV's installed - $521 each mounted from local Michelin dealer. Tire alone was $450 + tax.

I'm getting turn key prices from Michelin dealers from $632 to 518. Thanks for sanity check. Guess the $518 cash price is good.

Got a bid from another Michelin dealer that drops the $518 to $483. I Bought them. I think his price and quick availabilty were the result of a failed sale.

I ordered 6 new Michelin 255/80R 22.5 XRV tires on May 1, 2010. At the time the local tire dealer, Indy Tire Centers here in Indianapolis told me they were on National back order and it may take at least two weeks before they would arrive. It actually took longer, they arrived yesterday and I had them installed today. They had a sticker on them that said they were manufactured on May 10, 2010 and had a date code of 1910 on the sidewalls. The cost was:
6 tires at $392.75 = $2,356.50
Scrap 6 old tires, 6 @ $7.00 = 42.00
Mount 6 tires 6 @ 25.00 = 150.00
Spin balance 6 tires 6 @ 25.00 = 150.00
Valve stems, caps and extensions= 34.00
Federal excise tax = 96.42
Indiana Sales Tax = 177.84
Total out the door = $3,006.76
It was a smooth ride home and I thought they did a nice job on the install.

I paid $360-ish each tires only late in 2008.
If I were you I would get new stems from "Dually-stems". See ad in back of FMCA magazine. Also factor in the powdered balancing powder bags. Both items well worth the investment but needs to be installed at the same time of new tires.
Where ever you end up, be sure to check the date stamp on the side walls off all of the tires. If you don't know how to read the dates ask here on this forum.

Thanks for all the input. Mine were nanufactured last month. Got a question and concern. My outside rear duals have balancing weights taped on with a duct tape type material on the outside/wheel well portion of the wheel. Is this customary? Because of aluminum wheels? Why not rim weights? Did I get had?
