Can't see any reason to get on hands and knees, even when my knees were younger. I've always done a "stand up job", using a long handled brush and/or sponge mop to wash or apply a finish coating.

I don't worry about the gunk running down the sides - just wash them afterwards.

While we were at the FMCA in Perry last month, I had the coach washed/detailed by a vendor (Dazzeling Detail). They did a great job on the wash/dry for 80.00 bucks. I also paid 15.00 per wheel for a better than new polishing, and 25.00 for a roof coat. When the guy came to do the roof coat, he made the cleaning crew come back and redo the roof, they did not do a good job around the ac units and under the batwing. After it dried the second time, he came back and applied two coats of "Johnson Liquid Floor Wax". Took about 10 min percoat. He let it dry between coats for about 30 mins. The next day I got on the roof and was very pleased with the work. It was not slick at all, but it sure has a wet look. Been 5 weeks and still no white run off from the fiberglass roof like it use to have.

I've been following this thread with alot of interest. I have to admit I'm terrified to put *anything* on the roof which makes it slick or shiny or anything of the sort. We often go on the roof to tilt solar panels and such, and I don't want any kind of risk of slipping. It's the very reason we've never waxed the roof.

Does the Mop-n-Glow make the roof slick?
Anybody use anything that *doesn't* make the roof slick?

I've been using 303 Protectant after a good brush washing. But like the Protect-All mentioned above, it is a hands and on the knees operation and lots of buffing. It can be slick when wet, but I have had no problems while the roof is dry and I am wearing good non-slip shoes. I think I will look at one of the floor finishes available and give it a try. I need easier.

What is recommended on a TPO roof material if Mop n Glo (or Pledge Future Shine) should only be used on a fiberglass roof ? Anything good for TPO roofing ?

Will my fiberglass Winne roof support my 250+a few pound physically shaped body?

I need to wash mine. I usually send DW up to do it buy she now has a bothering hip (maybe that's just an excuse, no?)

What removes Future Shine? I did my roof this weekend and I got a few dribbles on areas I didn't want it.

I've been following the discussion here and still wonder about the long term use of any of these products like Mop & Glow, etc.
Has anyone out there used these over say a 3 year period and not had a build up or any sort of other problem?

Well, since the roof is fiberglass and the sides are fiberglass, is there any reason not to use this same procedure on the sides instead of waxing?

We use a protectant spray on wax from Camping World. Fogot name but came in 1 gallon size. It sprays on then wipes off and works well. But it was expensive and maybe the mop n glow is just as good?

Or - does the gelcoat make a difference?

Just a thought?

I wouldn't want to do that. I just did my roof with Pledge Future Shine. 2 coats. The coats aren't even as it is difficult to apply. It dries fast and bubbles that show up remain if not brushed out. I used a sponge mop and would advise anyone doing their roof to use a very fine foam applicator as you would for furniture or floor refinishing. The final product the way I did mine is good enough for the roof to keep oxidization from being an issue but I wouldn't use it on my walls of the coach.

Good question about running down the side, what kind of applicator, or is it just don’t dump the bottle and swish.

I walked on my roof after with running shoes. They gripped pretty good and I was not worried about falling. No fifferent than runners on a lino floor. The roof is shiny but almost has a rubber feel to it.
