Mop 'n Glow roof treatment, observations
I decided some time ago I was never again going to get on my knees and wax the roof of my motorhome. Some folks had recommended Mop 'n Glow. I was skeptical but used it after washing the roof last year.
Today, I started my spring cleaning and started with a roof wash. I was surprised to discover that rather than finding the usual dirty roof with a lot of mold and other various black dirt, the roof looked really good. My coach sits outside and there are trees but this year it was cleaner than ever before.
It was also very easy to wash. I used Turtle Wax Zip Wash and Wax. I had to scrub only a few black spots with a Mr. Clean magic eraser. I applied another coat of Mop 'n Glow.
A pic of the roof:
Now I realize the roof doesn't look as pristine and shiney as those that have been waxed, polished or buffed but, for a 9 yr old roof that lives outside under trees most of the time, I am pleased. I am sold on the use of Mop 'n Glow.

It sure looks good to me. I hate having to wash the roof. 12 feet doesn't seem so high when you're on the ground, but when you're up there with a wet slippery roof, it's a whole different ballgame!

I waxed mine this past February, and it had a lot of overspray on it (full body paint). I was just up there this weekend and it still doesn't look great. Waxed it on my hands and knees. Probably won't do that again.
Next time I'll try the Mop-n-Glow.

Don, I wash it standing up using a long handle brush. I did have to get on my knees to use the Magic Eraser on the few black spots that were there. Mop n Glow is applied with a long handle sponge wax applicator.

It's spring cleaning time and I'm all for a better way than hands and knees. Besides, my knees aren't what they used to be.
But the true travelers are they who leave for leaving’s sake
Saying continuously, without knowing why: ‘Let us go on’.
Paraphrased from Baudelaire’s ‘The Journey’

I do not like getting on my hands and knees on that thin fiberglass roof to clean and wax it. Since I park on a large hard surface, I picked up a Harbor Freight scaffold to use as a work stand. It is much easier and more comfortable doing roof and high side work from it than working from a ladder.

No problem walking on the Winnie roofs. Both my brother and I were up there this past weekend, with a satellite problem.
Not fun on your hands and knees waxing these roofs. I will look for an alternative next time. Gary has a great suggestion with the Mop-N-Glow.

I, like Don, have been doing mine on my hands and knees for the past 4 years --- I LIKE the look of the Mop and Glow finish -- I know how I will do mine the next time. I also use the Turtle product to wash with. Oh my knees are smiling right now.

The Mop & Glow sounds like it might be the way to go. I too have bad knees and would hate to be on them on the roof. But I have one question what application method are you using and did you have any problems with it running down the sides or front and back? I want to give it a try just want some application tips.
Thanks in advance Tom.
