Motor Home Insurance

I just received a quote from Blue Sky RV Insurance through FMCA it is about 1/4 of what I am passing Progressive. I am wondering if anyone has any experiences good or bad to share, so that I can make an informed decision.

Hi..
I just switched to Blue Sky when I was up for renewal with National Interstate.. Less than 1/2 of the new rate from National for practically identical coverage..
Read many on this forum have had good experience with them..

We are also moving away from National Interstate. They were a price leader a few years ago. Not so much any more. Significant price increases over the past two years.

Opposite for me

I actually had the opposite experience. Blue Sky quoted $380.00 a year higher than National Interstate for me. The difference had me call Blue Sky back to confirm what they quoted. Both quoted on a brand new coach as well. Actually Interstate beat everyone.

Just got my quote back from Blue Sky, National Interstate, Farmers, and one other. Blue Sky was a lot less than National and half of farmers. Blue Sky came in at $1200+/-

Good Luck!

I recently had a large claim with Blue Sky and they paid with no hassles at all > Am very pleased. Wonder if they will increase my premium next year?

Did you Google "Blue Sky" here on iRV2 ????? Lots of discussion re: Blue Sky - some good, some not so good.

We've had Progressive ever since we went fulltime 5yrs. ago. We just renewed at $642 for the year, that includes the roadside assistance rider.

Blue sky for me, they were the cheapest and I have met two people who had claims with them, said they were hassle free and easy to work with.

I would love to see progressives prices on a state by state basis. My MH is registered in SD and they quoted me over $4,000 a year, the highest of the 12 quotes we got by a long shot yet other people get insured by them at really great rates. I find this interesting.

We have ours thru Farmers its called Foremost, $859.00 Full coverage including free glass replacement and Roadside and replacement cost.
Since it is 32 years old they wanted pictures inside and outside. They are insuring it.

We have frequent threads started asking "who is the best/cheapest" and my response is always, "you can't judge by other peoples experience". There are too many variables, some personal and particular to you, some state, county or even city specific. This thread proves my point.

Our policy recently came up for renewal. I shop rates every year and so far (three years running) Progressive has quoted the lowest rate. This year, as in the past, Blue Sky was 25 - 30% higher for the same coverage.

As they say, "your results may vary".
