Howdy, and welcome to iRV2.

Depending on how closely the old standoffs broke off, you might be able to grab the end with a pair of visegrips and wind them out. Dependent on what type of material they are screwed into behind the fiberglass rear cap, you might find a liberal soaking with penetrating oil helpful.

I'm sure someone here has ran into the similiar situtation and will have an answer.

You may have to drill them out or reposition the holes. You may be able to move them and still cover the old ones. Good luck.

I got tangled up with a Railroad crossing arm and had to completely remove my ladder to have the outer arm welded. My ladder was mounted with self tapping screws and I simply backed them out, including the ones into the roof. I had to peel back the self leveling caulk on both sides of the roof mount but had no problems with the screws after that.

I put everything back with one sized larger self tapping screws and the ladder is more solid today than before I started the repair.

Good Luck

Charlie
