Motorhome Insurance

I've had my motorhome insured through RV America, who use the Blue Sky RV Insurance program developed by Recreation Insurance Specialists, for the past few years. The insurance is actually issued by Companion Property & Casualty Insurance. This year they are notifying me that Companion is no longer offering this type of insurance. This probably will effect a great many of us. RV America is offering a renewal through RLI Insurance Company, out of Peoria, Illinois. However, with an increase of $75. Nothing has changed for my wife and I except for getting another year older, along with the coach. They claim an A+ Superior rating by A.M. Best. Is anyone familiar with this company? Are you satisfied with any claims you may have had? I think it might also be wise to look at alternative companies. What insurance company are you using? All input will be greatly appreciated. You may post or email me privately.

We have State Farm. Full coverage is $504 per year. We are 39 and 37 years old.

We have Progressive thru RV America. We wanted Statefarm, but they wanted $double for less coverage. That said, Progressive increased our premium 16% the second year "because claims were up in our zip code". Still significantly cheaper than Statefarm quoted us.

That's a good price. I am looking at State Farm who is the cheapest ~700 all the way to Farmers at 1186 per year.

1998 Chieftain 33wb ( Creampuff) .. $305 yearly with Geico. Old girl doesn't cost much to replace. Three years ago when I was shopping, Geico had the cheapest rate of all of them. There has been no rate creep..
