Multiple propane regulator failures
I have a 2018 Class C with a single propane tank. We have been in port for the last few months so we are also hooked up to an external propane tank.
Two weeks ago our original dual stage regulator failed. It started hissing and leaking. I replaced it and the new one worked for two weeks and then started hissing and leaking as well.
Any idea what would cause multiple regulator failures?
Thanks!

The actual regulator was leaking and not the connection to the regulator?

No idea why. I would be talking to whoever sold or installed the regulator.

I have a stay longer kit that connects to the external tank. However, the propane is leaking from the highest point in the second stage of the regulator.

without seeing your set up it sounds like you have too much down stream pressure and it is coming out of 2nd stage vent like it is designed to do .. ?

You hooked in after the onboard regulator.
Using a external to the onboard regulator inline might be the problem ... One regulator is all you need.

2nd stage vent is on 'air side' (as is 1st stage vent) of diaphragm
Propane leaks from vents only when diaphragm has cracked/ruptured
Inlet to 1st is directly from your on-board tank OR with an extend-stay directly from external source.
Pressure can be 150/250# going into the 1st stage.
1st stage drops pressure down to 15# which goes to 2nd stage where pressure is dropped to 0.4# (11" WC) for the RV propane system
If external source was connected on downstream side of Regulator the WHOLE propane system would be damaged....blown gas valves, hoses which are not High pressure but are low pressure hoses etc
SO doubt external has been connected wrong......it has to be connected on MH propane tank side of Regulator
UNLESS external source has its own 2 stage regulator.
So either you have the external source hooked up on wrong side W/O a separate regulator and are blowing out the 2nd stage regulator diaphragms on your MH due to high pressure
OR you are buying cheaply made regulators like a Marshall

Coincidently, I just replaced my Marshall regulator the other day, as it was leaking; luckily was able two get my hands on a replacement very easily. Got a spare as well.......
Won't get into the propane problems I had early on, but that regulator was not the original on the coach, but others I have seen look very sub standard to Marshalls..........
Whose regulator do you think are better and where do you find them?
Thanks
