Don't feel bad "lascar", I did the same thing once when my bedroom slide wouldn't go in. I'd been working on it in the driveway and since it's a small slide I didn't start the engine, just turned the key to accessory, like I've done before. I tried everything I could think of, thinking all kinds of bad things and major $$$ repairs.

Then I noticed the stupid emergency brake wasn't applied.

Powergear jacks won't retract

Does anyone have ht manual procedure for a late model system?
I have a 98 discovery with the square tack and three valves to raise ans the smaller dump valve.
I am currently stuck in ME and need help.
I have a good 12 V and grounds at the solenoids but the dump valve is not working.

Thanks in advance for any help!

HI fellow Discovery owner!

Please excuse my late response and my typing screwups. Im typing this from my hospital bed with a IV stuck in each hand.

Power Gear(Lipert) website has many many manuals covering their entire line of products from owner how to manuals, to complete technical ones. That is where I got mine for the 1997 Discovery to my current 2006 Discovery.

From the deep recess of my brain. I think you can pull one of the solenoids you know is working off, and use it on the dump valve to see if the actual dump valve is working or not.

I think I saw where you were worried about the cold outside temperatures causing the problem. That could be possible IF water got in the hydraulic fluid tank and that water froze.

I changed the fluid in both of my Discovery coaches to a fluid PG recommends. All of my records are in another computer at home and will have to wait till get out of here to access them. All I can remember it was a synthetic transmission fluid and we used the jacks year round even down to 0 degrees.

Gotta go. More later I hope,

Jacks stuck Down

Using a good solenoid on the dump valve worked. i did have to do the rear and then the front separately. The fill solenoid need to energize also, so I did the rear then the front!

Glad it worked for you!

In my coach, I used 2 gallons Valvoline MaxLife Full-synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid. This helped a lot in the speed of the jacks going up or down, especially in cold weather.

Have you found a replacement for the dump solenoid yet?

I did find a standard 12V solenoid (1/2" dia) for the dump valve on amazon. $22 and it works great!
