Thanks Eyephoto

The DW named ours "Escape Plan" but we normally refer to it as "The Bus".

As in "Flying Horse Power" when Mobil Oil Company used it as their corporate logo on their aircraft (and other advertising). My Dad worked for the Aircraft Operations Department of Mobil Oil back in the day. His belief in "seeing this country" is why we bought an RV.

Some very humorous and clever names in here. As to the people who don't see the point, suit yourselves. Personally, I think a large RV deserves a name, just as a large boat does. They are "land yachts" after all. Let's face it, we've got: "shore power", "docking" lights, a "street" side and a "curb" side (similar to port and starboard), and I'm sure there are other nautical references that I'm simply not thinking about at the time.
As to our rig we named it "Lucy", as in "I love Lucy" or "Lucy I'm home!". We actually let our kids pick the name and our 6 yr old came up with Lucy. We felt like it fit well so Lucy it is.

In my family we name everything. Cars, trucks, dirt bikes, trailers. The toy hauler is called the "Moto-Home" or "Moto" as it is used at Motocross races.

Great thread........

Angie and I were avid ocean cruisers for 20+ years. On a Trans-Atlantic cruise in 2013 we looked at each other and said - "It's time to get off the cruise ships and see America!"

We cruised almost exclusively on Royal Caribbean and often stayed in a cabin class called, "Owners Suite".

So when we bought our motor home, the natural name was "The Owners Suite".

It works for us!! LOL

We used to own ocean going boats (and they were all named). When we purchased our first MH (Bounder), we named it "Walter" (after Walter White from Breaking Bad). Walter had personality.

Our current Vogue Prima Vista, I wanted to name her "Prima Donna" (my wife's name is Donna), but DW won with "The Land Yacht Kristin". I call her "Kris" for short. We name some of the vehicles (not all). They have to have "personality" (or looks) in order to earn the name.

Example,......when we saw our S class MBZ first time, we were not sure if we like the color (Designo edition in Horizon blue, with AMG package). Color changes (depending on light) from silver to light blue. We commented that it looks like a "gay family car". Since we liked Sasha Cohen's movie "Bruno",......we still call it "Bruno" to this day. (BTW, we learned to love the color!)

To each his own.

Two of my close friends and my brother in law, each own lake houses. We call it "Our Lake House", only we can park it beside any lake we want. One of my friends would really like to sell his because he doesn't like the lake all that well.

When we bought our '02 DSDP the State of WA gave us a license plate with "PBM" as part of the sequence. Some years later, when it came time to replace the plates as per WA law, we paid to keep the plate as a "vanity plate". Then when we bought the Magna we just transferred it to the newer MH.
DW says it stands for "Pretty Bodacious Motorhome" and I guess it is!

Ours is "Gracie", not because of Gracie Allen and George Burns, but just because.

Inspired by grace (eloquence or beauty of form, kindness, mercy, favor)
