wito1fl, welcome to iRV2.

If it's a Dometic AC, it may be the start capacitor, as there was a bad batch of them in 2006.

wito1fl, welcome to our website and forum. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences.
What is or was the actual voltage where the trouble accured? How long did you leacve it turned on? If the voltage is to low it can struggle to start; it also has a time delay for the compressor to start, usually 3-5 minutes. Let us know some of these answers if you can and we can help you a little more. Good luck.

I would highly recommend a Surge Guard or equivilent power protection for the motorhome. I will not plug into anything without mine. Do a search by clicking on the "Find" button and unchecking the little box and use "Surge Guard" for the criteria. It is worth every penny.
