We have a 2007 Monaco La Palma with a Cummins 325HP, 6 speed Aliison. We now have 4500 miles and are thinking ahead about routine service in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

If anyone has had a good experience with a Phoenix area diesel mechanic we would appreciate hearing about it. I guess we could also ask for opinions on bad experiences and which to avoid.

I use Massey Diesel...they are at 59th Ave at Van Buren. Call Tom Kszepka, the service manager...602 233 1700. I live in Prescott, and bring my coach down to them

Teoff, thank you for the feedback. I'd read your earlier posts about Massey's and thought we would give them a call. I see they are a Monaco Warranty Service Center. Probably our first choice.

Anyone have experience with Cummins in Avondale, AZ?

If you're referring to Rocky Mountain Southwest (I believe that is Avondale... around 100th ave.)... we just took our coach in for generator repair. They were knowledgeable (known issue... needed retrofit of fan belt), quick, and got it covered through Monaco even though we are not in warranty (I guess that was because of the "known issue" status). Anyway, so far, we're pleased, although we haven't set off on our next trip yet...

Also, we have switched repair facilities... we were using Holiday Motorhomes to repair our Beaver Coach, they have been a huge PITA... nothing ever completed correctly, blatent disregard for deadlines, and crappy craftsmanship (if you can call it that). We were referred to RV Renovators in Mesa by Monaco (when I called out of sheer frustration with the lack of service and unfinished repairs at Holiday Motorhomes), our Coach is in right now for a few repairs, so far they seem to be timely, also knowledgeable, and very communicative. Picking it up on Thursday, but their customer service alone has been so much better! We're hopeful...

An update on Massey:
They fixed my leaking hydraulic pump, even though it took two trips...I also asked them to look at my brakes, as I was getting some strong vibration when I stopped coming off a freeway offramp. They reported they could find no problem with the brakes. When I picked it up, I broke down about 10 miles from Massey...I lost air pressure, brakes overheated and coach started to overheat. I called Massey...they sent a service truck. Apparantly a broken air brake switch. When I went back to pick it up two days later, they gave me a bill for $785...and were insistant that it had nothing to do with anything they worked on. So, I get home, and now I notice the air is slowly leaking...call Tom, the service manager, and he confirms...there is a leak, so I am leaving for a 3 week trip, and will take it back when I get home. I really like Tom the service manager, but I know he is only as good as his tech's....I think good tech's are an issue everywhere. Even with this issue, I will continue to use Massey's.
