Need Deep Cycle batteries

I find that I need two new deep cycle batteries for my coach.
I would appreciate any recommendations about the best brand to buy.
I have access to a few battery dealers in this area but don't want to get a set of 12v batteries that aren't going to last.

Which brands have stood the test of time.

I have two of these batteries. From what I can tell they are used most in "telecom". They are AGM and work for me. I have the 190Amp/hr model and it's actually over 200 amp/hrs at the 20 hr rate.

The kicker is my local battery store had these and were trying to get rid of them. I bought two of them brand new for less than $300 (total). I've been using and testing them for about 3 years now. Unfortunately they seem to be going for over $500 a piece now.

When I bought my coach there were two 12 volts. After one year I changed to 2 6volt trojans t125s So much better. Trojans are not the cheapest but probably one of the best. You only get what you pay for.

Another vote for the Trojan T-105s---they are an excellent deep cycle battery, you would just have to wire them in series instead of parallel. Check out the Trojan website--lot to be learned there.
FYI, I bought my last two 6-volts at a NAPA store--they appear to be identical to the Trojan T-105s, so that may give you another source to shop.

We are on our second set of replacement batteries. We use Interstate SRM 27's. Both sets lasted over 5 yrs. on a single stage charger. These are Marine/Deep Cycle. I have to admit that I was negligent in properly maintaining them or they may have lasted longer. $121.95 ea.

I have had multiple sets of Trojan T-105s over the years, and received good service and life from them.

The Phaeton came with six 6v Interstate batteries in it, original to the coach I believe and still doing well, which would make them having done a good job.

LifeLine batteries and Trojan batteries are some of the best (decide if you want 6volt vs 12 volt....also decide if you want flooded vs AGM)

The brand name is not all that important - most batteries come from one of the big 3 battery maker factories anyway, regardless of the label on the case. What is important is the type, i.e. true deep cycle vs marine vs engine cranking battery, and the size in amp-hours vs your power needs. Also flooded cell vs AGM for the difference in maintenance concerns.

I am happy with our Lifeline AGMs. Yes, more expensive. US made. Customer service has also been helpful and responsive.

i installed my 2 lifeline 6v GPL-6CT AGM bats purchased from bd batteries, online, on their sides under my stairs in 2008 where the original 12v bats were installed. I increased my ampere hr. capacity from 190 ah to 300 ah. that is a 63% increase.
we fulltime in our moho but I don't ''deep cycle'' them so they are still doing great.
there should be several pics of my installation in the archives of this forum.
they weigh 90 # each and are expensive. I expect to get another 7 years service from them so the are worth the price to me.

There is a reason that most electric golf carts come with Trojans. It is true that there are few battery manufactures but all batteries are not the same quality. As a general rule, you get what you pay for and a higher initial price will likely save money in the long run if you plan on keeping the RV.

Absolutely, but the difference in specs will show. A cut-price battery will typically have a lower weight (less lead plates), but that translates to a lower amp-hour of RC (Reserve Capacity) rating as well. You can't just shop for price - you need apples-to-apples specs as well.
