Need help with Evans Valve

I have been having problems with the CEI (Evans) valve not going to heat. I purchased a new valve on ebay a replacement for an older CEI valve that came with a pigtail plug. Problem is my old valve plug looks nothing like the new one. Both have 3 wires but that's all. Old plug has a RED PURPLE and BROWN wire. New one has RED BLACK and YELLOW. I metered the old plug with a digital and analog meter and with the ignition switch on, none of the wires are hot. Did not try it with the RV running. Checked resistance and the Red = 0 ohms, Brown = 0 ohms and Purple reads 730 Ohms with the temp rheostat at hot and 220 when turned to cold.

Here are some pictures of the old one, I'd appreciate any help tracing the wires so I can install the new valve.

I would try to get the right valve is at all possible. Now that said, the field expedient would be to cut and use stake on male and female butt splice connectors color for color. Single wrap each connection with 33 and use a piece of wire loom and tape it in place.

Not the best advice however I thought I would give it a shot!

If I remember correctly they have instructions on their website. Replaced one 3 years ago on with the newer model. You should have contacted them directly. They replaced mine free of charge. They had a bad batch that were leaking hot water past the valve.

Fugured it out

Looking at the schematic from Evans, I see where you need to not only turn the ignition switch to on but also the vacum mode switch has to be on.

So where the new plug shows Red=12v, Blk=ground and Yellow= Heat control. On my old plug, the Red=12v, Brown=ground and Purple= Heat Control.
