I used a couple of $5 LED license plate lights, one inside does the job and one outside under the coach facing out wards lights up the steps out there.
Ted 'n' Laurie, plus Jackson (aka Deputy Dog, the Parson Russell Terrier 'fur kid') and, Rylie (who crossed the Rainbow Bridge June 14, 2012).
