New desk

We finally got our desk built for the MH and none too soon. We're leaving on vacation on Monday and the cabinet maker and the counter top guy came through just in time. Had to have it made to our specs to replace a chest of drawers that was here. I believe originally that it came with some sort of desk from the factory as the drawers didn't exactly match the walnut in the MH. This was made from walnut as per original but the photos I took don't really do it justice as it matched much better than it looks. The counter guy matched the Corian perfectly. DW is happy now that she has room to scrap along the way. Printer and BossKut fit nicely in the cabinets. Had to remove my recliner but it was always in the way and don't think I'll miss it. Well we're off on a new adventure.

Nice desk! How do you plan to secure the chair on wheels?

We thought about that. May just use a bungy cord to the desk but doesn't move very easy on the carpet so may not be a problem. Don't want it to become a projectile though. This will be a shake down cruise. Looks like rain all week where we're headed so DW will like the desk for her indoor projects

Looks great! Hope you don't regret losing your recliner, though!

That looks great I am never sure why the factory doesn't put this kind of setup in to begin with instead of some of the goofy things they do put in.

I have a similar set up and have two desk chairs on rollers. I just roll the chair under the desk and lift up on the armrest which kind of wedges it to stay in place. It has worked on a number of trips so far. Just an idea.

When we ordered our Dutch Star one of the options was a computer desk/credenza rather than a free standing table. I found that I don't use the computer drawer or printer shelf at all and prefer a table in front of one of the La Z Boy recliners we have. Also took out the Hide A Bed and replaced it with two La Z Boy recliners earlier this year as a lot of people seem to have done.
