New season new suspension issue.

Hey guys. This is a new problem. The 1st year I had the coach I had a airbag blow out so I had them both replaced. I've been driving this year for about 2 months and now my airbags seemed to deflate every time I stopped the coach. I It seems the compressor runs for about 20 minutes when I started up in the morning to reinflate the airbags but even a half hour stop they deflate. And then I have to wait till they inflate again. I'm thinking there's a leak on a fitting. But today when I parked the coach the compressor stopped. I touched it and it was really hot. Does anyone know if there is a temperature limitation on the compressors that will cause them to seize under extreme heat? By running the compressor so hard you may have worn it out. You need to fix the leak before it gives out entirely. They will shut down when overheated but it may not start up again.

Sounds to me as though you have both an air leak (hardly unusual!) and a compressor problem. Air leaks can often be heard once you shut down the engine, but you probably have to slide underneath (at least a little) to isolate it.

A clogged air dryer can make the compressor work overly hard, substantially reducing the air flow. Has the cartridge been replaced in the past 2-3 years? If not, that's a good place to start.

I was a ViAir dealer when I was in business..

ViAir compressors are available online from Amazon and Ebay... any ViAir compressor has a 15% duty cycle... in that it is to be running 15% of the time and off 85% of the time. NOTE the tag reads.... 100% at 72 degrees outside air temperature and at 100 psi.... but this compressor is rated at 200 psi and will be hot, read hot when running.... if it gets low voltage that will shorten its life.... check with a volt meter while running....

You can't hardly control the way it starts and stops... but you can make sure its can work without leaks... any leak will kill this compressor....

Also... if you don't drain the tank... it will fill with water and make the compressor work twice as hard as its can't store the correct amount of air needed for the system to work....

Thanks for the reply, how do I drain the tank. Just pull the poppit in the bottom? Is that all there is to do?

I don't know anything about this system where is the cartridge located? I can guarantee you it has never been changed
