Question No house power, mh newbie

We are the proud new owners of a previously owned 1987 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 33'. I'm trying to figure out how all the systems work and I cant seem to get the aux battery's to run. I turn on the aux battery when not connected to shore power and the only thing that will turn on is the water heater. I get no lights, fridge, or 12 volt plug power. I have checked all fuses and breakers. The previous owner had new house battery's installed. I checked and have 12.6v. There is a switch in the bathroom that the owner said is for 12 v power. The switch seems to only work when on shore power. I have no power at the converter when I'm not connected to shore power and I haven't tried to start it on aux battery.

Any help I can get on where to look or what to check would be helpful. Thanks

There has to be a switch somewhere that you have missed that will control the 12V supply to your MH. some call it a salesman switch

If I read this correctly, all of the 12V equipment works fine when connected to shore power. In that this unit has some age on it, check the 12V terminations downstream of the battery for loose, broken or corroded terminations. May appear to be fine but can corrosion will act as a high resistance that blocks current flow (including the battery terminals). Often this occurs where a termination block is exposed to the weather. The terminal block where the engine emergency backup starting taps off is a possibility Also check the house battery on-off switch that energizes the 12V is actually conducting closed when in the "on" although, depending how its wired, when "off" even with shore power, the 12V should not function.

Older RV's sometimes have a "master" cut off switch. This could be just about anywhere...but look around, under the front drivers seat area and dash. Also any entry doors.

Is your shore power cable plugged into the RV?
