I am writing to let prospective Alfa Motor Home owners to not expect support from Alfa. After buying our 2002 Alfa See Ya in Jan of 03 the following summer the dash AC did not work. Took it to Freightliner who checked system and found no leaks but system was almost 3 pounds low on refrigerant, factory had not properly charged system but Alfa would not stand good for it and MBA (extended warranty) does not cover addition of fluids. The Splendide washer/dryer did not work properly. Splendide sent out a service technician who discovered problem was factory had improperly installed drain hose causing water to siphon out of washer. Again, Alfa would not cover their mistake and MBA denied coverage. The dash heater would not keep coach warm if outside temperature was below 40 degrees. It was diagnosed that Alfa had not insulated or sealed the dash area behind the front cap and so much air was leaking in that the heater could not compensate. Again Alfa would not cover their design and/or construction error and neither would MBA. The living room slide was tilted to the front and tore the front seal. In April of 2004 the Alfa factory replaced the seal but did not correct the adjustment of the slideout and in March 2005 it was doing the same thing again. Alfa would not cover the alignment of the slideout to correct their design error and neither would MBA. While this was being repaired I looked at 4 other brand new 2005 Alfa See Ya's and they still haven't corrected their design error. The top corner on front edge of the living room slideout pinches and tears the slideout seal. The problem is easily correctable but they don't seem to care. The bottom line is if you are a prospective motor home buyer don't expect Alfa to stand behind their product, they apparenly believe in the motto "buyer beware". We have spent approximately $500 correcting their design and manufacturing errors which is ridiculous when you buy a product that cost's nearly $200,000.
My advice, DON'T buy an Alfa product.

jjnickeson,

All I can say is sorry for your problems, but WELCOME to irv2 as a new member . The ALFA Forum may or may not help you out on this site, doesn't seem to be much action on it lately, an Mfg dropped out of support of forum. ---"007"
