Just got back from first trip in which we used our bedroom ac unit and man is that thing noisy. It is a add on penguin by dealer and not ducted. It cools real well but fan runs after compressor stops. According to manual this is the way it is to work. This is a 20012 fifth wheel and this is our third trip.
Any help on keeping fan noise down. thanks jim w

It could be not running true dirt dobbers, wasp love those round cages to build nest it will make it wobble out of round and sound like the roof is viberating or something scraping. If so remove cover take something and knock it out of the cage clean all the debris off.

Make sure nothing is loose or rubbing. Aside from that, the units do have a fair amount of fan noise. Small fans moving a lot of air create a lot of noise and with the roof being lower, you will hear it louder.

Your thermostat should allow you to put the fans in FAST or LOW speeds or in AUTO. LOW speed will quiet it right down and AUTO mode will shut the fan off when the thermostat the compressor off.

This is true of units with the wall mounted thermostat. Cieling mounted control units have the fan run constantly and you do not want to run the unit on low fan.
