Norcold 4 door owners MUST READ

If you have had a Norcold 4 door for a number of years I strongly suggest you inspect the lower hinges. Over the years the hinges will wear and the lower hinge(s) will start digging into the door. If not caught in time your only option is to replace the ENTIRE door(s). Door's for these fridges are almost as much as a new fridge!
My norcold was not latching properly. Upon close inspection I noticed that the top of the two lower doors where not lined up properly. I discovered that the lower hinges where digging in. I was able to correct with some washers but if left alone I would have been looking for new doors!
The same with the seals. Properly aligned doors and good seals will get you a long way.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought I only had to worry about the darn thing starting a fire (now have the ARP thermal limit switch). I like the flexibility of a duel powered fridge, but I can state with certainty that if the doors and/or seals fail, I will go to a residential unit. That would be the last straw.

This has been a known Issues for YEARS.

Including how to repair and fix. Including making new ones.

The problem, is water/condensation getting on the metal.

Both hinges on my lower doors failed. The metal insert that goes into the door pulled away from the door. JB weld to the rescue. Four years later and no issue. BTW, I ask the DW to tell me when she wants to open the doors under way just to make sure there are no big bumps in the road coming.

Lots of used doors around the country. Just check the RV repair shop bone-yards and you will find plenty of stock to choose from. Change out the front panels and you are back in business.

I reinforced my lower hinges with JB Weld after they both fell off the fridge onto the floor.

This has been a problem since the NotSoCold 1200 model was first introduced.
