My wife defrosted our fridge and freezer(4D Norcold fridge) a couple of days ago, now the fridge doesn't get cold although the freezer is working fine. Makes ice, etc but not cooling the refridg compartment. Any thoughts?

Welcome to irv2 deank37
Check the following LINKS in these posts should help.
Make sure the fans are working because they are what helps control temp in box. Also check to see if you have not disturbed the thermister on the fin to the right should be clipped on fin and about 1 1/4" from top of fin.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

deank37, my first question will be, is the coach level. For proper operation, the refrigerator must be level. If the freezer is making ice then you could have a light staying on, the doors not sealing, or even a blockage in the fresh food evaporator. How log has the refrigerator been turned back on? Let us know and include the model number so we can be of better help.

We had problems with our ref. from day one. To get it cool we would have to put it on 8.It would accumulate a lot of ice, defrost, ice up again.
Finally got a repairman to look at he. He knew immediately what was wrong. Apparently a lot of ref. had been sent out with a bad, I'm going to call it a wire thingy. He ordered a new one put it on and we've had no problems since.

Sounds to me like you may have moved or broken the temp sensor (thermistor) in the fridge section.

However, I will say that we recently had to wait a long time (24 hours) for our 4D Norcold to cool down after having it shut off for three weeks during a remodeling project. First time that has happened - it always used to cool down within 4-5 hours.

January.....the repair man led us to believe there might be a recall about the problem. Ours wasn't the first he fixed.
Since I had just had surgery, we had on site service. We had to pay for part of it. Was not happy about tha.

Thanks for your replies...I did place a fan blowing on the coils, didn't help. Yesterday it began cooling and is now down to 40 deg. A tech I called mentioned a "defrost cycle". I had never heard of it but it is now cooling ok without the aux. fan.Go figure.
