I have this problem when plugged in. I exercised my gen. I found the frige was not working. I unplugged the fridge and it went to gas. The next day I turned it off and plugged it back in, turned it on and it works ok.I had this problem one other time. It has a new control board in it. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. dmsatori, What year and model # if possible.
The newer Norcolds have a pretty sophisticated diagnostic system.

Did the unit not work on the generator both times? If so it may be as simple as a breaker on the generator.
Did everything else work on generator power?

Its a 2005 1200 The generator was working ok. I found it was not working 4 hours after I exercised the generator. The other time it did it we were having trouble with the electric going on and off. That time I had a trouble code that recomended control board replacement. I did get the old board working,I thought maybe a relay was sticking??????

Given the history you recounted here, I would suspect corrosion, either on the board itself or the pins that plug it into the fridge wiring harness. It sounds like it fails to accomplish the power mode switch (AC/gas) some of the time. A new board would probably fix it, but you shouldn't need a new one so soon. Might be some reason yours is getting corrosion, though. Or perhaps vibration has cracked it internally?

Dinosaur can probably provide a good quality replacement board. They make sturdy stuff.

Have you checked the voltage output of the generator and the DC charger off the generator? Make sure both are in specs and that no dirty DC gets to the board.

I have had the same problem again. My surge protector must have kicked out and back on. It didn't switch back over to ac. I put it in lp mode and it worked. I put it in auto mode and its ok now. This is the same problem I had with the old control board. This board has been in 3 months The gen. was not being used this time. Dave
