I'm thinking of purchasing this Tire Safety :: nVISION Driver Awareness Solutions .

Anybody use it or know if it's any good?

Cliff,
We've used ours for over a year and no problems. I will recommend the signal repeater to ensure good reception of signals from any towed vehicle. The only change I would like them to make is to move the power connection from the front to the rear of the N-Vision.

The brochure indicates batteries may be good for up to 4 years at which time one is required to purchase new sending units. 10 tires times $50. is $500. just to get new batteries!!!!!!!
Several other units allow the owner to change batteries which shouldn't run more than $10-20 bucks. (HawksHead is the one we chose)

Cliff, if you go to that website that you had in your first post
http://www.nvisionsafety.com/doc/TPMS_manual.pdf Then go to page 24 of the pdf manual it will say that the sensors are sealed and that the batteries cannot be replaced. If you store the motorhome then yo should unscrew the sensors to save on the batteries. That is a pretty big expense every 4 years especially if you have a tag axle and a toad.

Has anyone used the Minder Research Inc system that you can replace the batteries on. www.minderresearch.com

It's a repackaged HawksHead system, and way more expensive. I paid $325 for six wheels and they want $599.

I see you use Hawks Head. I've been looking into them and spoke to the owner(Julian ) yesterday. I was wondering if you use the supplied lock that slips over the valve and if so is it easy to remove to air up?

Also how about the ease of installation?

The Hawkshead TPMS sure looks like the way to go. The sensors with the replacable batteries makes alot of sense. I use a Pressure Pro which I bought years ago. The one big drawback is that doesn't have repacable batteries in the sensors.
I wouldn't go a mile without a TPMS. They give you lots of piece of mind.

Yes, we use the "locks" and find them moderately easy to remove (adds 30-40 seconds to the process. The beauty of any TPMS is that you only remove the unit with the low air pressure instead of checking each with a tire guage.
Total installation took 1-1/2 hours but much of that was getting the pressures exact so that we could "calibrate" the TPMS at install. Our digital air guage and the system have never been more than +/- 2psi difference.

i am using the tst truck system. it reads temperature and pressure. after 1 1/2 years, one transmitter quit working and one leaked. they sent me 2 new ones at no charge. i am happy with this $300 system.
i have the infamous workhorse/bosch brake problem and feel that a temperature and pressure readout is necessary.

N-Vision problem -- went to install my N-Vision sensors on our MH tires and there's not enough clearance between the aluminum wheel and the valve stem?? N-Vision uses the Pressure Pro sensors. Suggestions?
