We recently purchased a 30 ft minnie winnie, The 3 weeks that I owned it, I did some minor repairs to it, As time went by, It sits in my driveway and a odor was comming from the rear like a sewage odor. So I called the person I bought the RV from and asked if he flushed out the sewage system he said he thought he got most of it out, Well most of it was not enough. I pulled the cap and needless to say the pipe was plug with CRAP. I added the odor flush and winterizing fluid, And got some of the poop out , Should I continue to do this..... Untill the pipe is empty..... I feel like calling the anal hole and telling him off but thats not going to solve my problem.

You should nearly fill the tank with water, put a couple of bags of ice down the toilet and drive around town and then empty it all out. The ice sloshing around will help remove any particles from the sides of the tank. Then, put 2-3 gallons of antifreeze in for the winter.

x2 it might take a few(many)flushes to get it clean.remember the rv was "used"

One the black tank is flushed and drained a pint or two will be sufficient. All your are doing with the anti-freeze is protecting the black tank valve.

Install one of these on the side of your black tank and use it regularly.

We started using a product called "happy camper" couple of scoops with the ice cube recommendation should help clean the whole system

How ever much ice you put in the black tank I'd put about 1/2 of that amount in water or bleach so the ice will scrub that much better and it's going melt right away into water too

After ya get it workin good, when ya dump, fill it again and dump again. 20 years. No problems.

The 2 bags of ice do little good unless the water is really cold and you get right to driving it. Remember that ice melts and putting two 10# bags of ice into 20 or 30 gallons of water, it will melt pretty fast.

Put a couple of cups of cheap dishwasher detergent (NOT dish washing soap) in about 1/2 tank of water in the black tank and drive around for about an hour. Then dump the stuff and rinse well.

You didn't pay for the extra goodies so put it in the seller's front yard. Just kidding. Fill, dump, rinse, repeat until clear after comes out. Buy one of the clear plastic attachments that go on the dump valve, then hook the sewer hose to that. Better than watching a tv program; at least what's on TV nowadays.

And my not knowing much about sewer cleaning and odor control, I was wondering if anyone ever had good results with adding some SALT to the mixture to add a little bit of abrasive power.

I know that that salt and ice cubes were like magic in my teens while working I fast food establishments for the coffee pots.

I had the same problem with mine, sloooow drain. tried every thing I read on here. Finally had to take the system apart and found a wood stick with baby wipes wrapped around it right where the piping connects to the tank. Nasty job but had to be done. All works well now. No wood sticks or baby wipes should ever be put in there. previous owner never mentioned about the slow drain so I know how you feel.
