Ok, I'm betting nobody has an answer for this one

Does anybody know where I can get a rack hitch mounted like this for my Dynamax. It has a molded in rear bumper but I want a fold down carrier similar to the one below. I would love to have a 4in bumper to be able to store my Slinky in. I stopped at 3 places in the Elkhart Indiana that said custom hitches but none of them had any idea how to do it. So much for the word custom. I don't know if they can connect it to my existing hitch or perhaps cut through the molded bumper.

Any help is appreciatedAttachment 205909Attachment 205911Attachment 205914Attachment 205915

Attachments are not working. Possible link instead?

Personally, I would call a custom truck BUMPER place. If you live in an area with more than 1 lifted truck around town, chances are there is such a business within 30 miles or so.

Those places do custom bumpers, skidplates, lightbars and roll bars all day long, and a lot of the owners/employees are RV people as well!

I would think any competent body shop should be able to handle it.

Wow,
That's all you're looking for? And, you stopped by "Fabrication" shops and they could not figure out how to do it or, make something like that for your Dynamax? What do they work on, kids tricycles? Maybe those are too complicated for them too. This isn't a launch gantry for the space shuttle. It's a RACK that tilts up, that sits on a 4" square tube bumper, geeesh!!!

Not sure why those shops couldn't handle such a mediocre task but, I'm pretty sure there's a few thousand shops around the country that could zap one of those out in about day or two, even for your present rig. Just keep looking around, you'll find one that will build one for you.

Went to three different places in Elkhart Indiana. And none of them had any idea.

So you need a place for the stinky house? Why not use a PVC pipe? Attach just about anywhere underneath

I’m with you and your first post...........come off the receiver hitch and save your bodywork intact in case the next guy doesn’t like your mod.

That's why I was thinking but since everyone was flabbergasted about my request I thought it would be easier.

I don't know why they couldn't make one for you, it's pretty simple. If you come off just the receiver it may want to move around a bit since it's only one spot where it attaches.

I don't see why a good metal shop couldn't create two plates that would mount to the supports for the hitch bar and add longer bolts for the mount, and curl the plate up and then weld the 4" tube to it where it would be above the receiver and behind the bumper.
This would leave your receiver free and have two mounts for the square tube to better support and stabilize it.
