Wondering what the opinions are about fine tuning leveling after slides are out. I always level before extending slides as manufacturer (Newmar) recommends, but once both slides on driver side are out the coach is slightly off level (a little low on the driver side and front left corner). Ok to re-level a bit with slides out?

I have power gear and they advised against it. My driver side is a little low after my slides come out so I lift that side a little before extending the slides. Works every time.

Always Jacks down first then slides out. If it seems a little off I simply hit the Auto level again and it fine tunes. Have not had any problems.

I do not have an automatic leveler.

But from what I remember, the fridge is what is important to keep close to level as possible.

When we first starting to travel and when we parked for the night in order to adjust the leveler adjacent to the side of the driver dashboard I had my wife put a small bubble level into the Fridge freezer and by using a hand mirror she could check the bubble and tell me which way to adjust the jacks so that the fridge was level.

When she said it was in the middle I then adjusted the level adjacent to the dash to correspond to it.
I then asked her to place the level someplace handy that showed that it was level so the next time we parked she could check to see if l had the rig level or not.

Sometimes after the slide was put out the rig would need just a little adjustment to bring it level.

Once in a while when we would put the big awning out it would need to be adjusted a little.

Just a thought.

So I guess if you know your drivers side will lower after the slides are out, why not just level the driver side that degree higher so when you put slides out and drivers side lowers then you are perfectly level. I'm no rocket scientist but seems like the simple answer

Yeah I can figure that out too, and I'm no rocket scientist either. Now that I'm getting the hang of this new coach I'll do that in the future.

I level before putting the slides out and then quite often, I will drop the Dr. Side or raise the Pas. Side so the shower door swings to the closed rather than open. Having said that, I think I would have to think twice about raising Front to Back due to the bending stress on the chassis which IMHOP, most likely would result in issues with the slides.

Hello Ken, find the adjustable leveling pod that is mounted on your Coach underneath and do a adjustment to it so when it auto-levels it is what you want every time. I would venture t o guess this adjustment is in your leveling system manual(HWH?)

It's an Equalizer leveling system, no "pod" underneath. Auto level is set from the keypad, which it is. There is no problem getting the coach level initially. The weight of two slides on the same side cause it to lean... not much, only a little. Not bothersome, just enough to want to readjust slightly. I'll compensate for it in the future.

Often you will find that after you've set up the weight of the coach will cause the ground to compact a little more over the first 24 hours and a slight tweak might be in order. I always level and then go about doing others things to give the coach time to settle before putting out the slides - a little readjustment might be needed before the slides go out.

Good thought. I'll remember that when I'm setting up on an unpaved surface.
