On ground oil change lube job vs on lift

Most truck shops up here use a lift that lifts the vehicle with the weight on the wheels. So for an oil change , all the weight is on the wheels just like the vehicle is on the ground. They have built in jacks to lift individual wheels if required.

The link also has a post a couple down that says Ford says to grease the kingpins with weight on them to get everything to line up correctly.

I think you are assuming the putting the coach on a lift will let the wheels hang.

This is true on some automotive lifts, but generally the HD lifts for trucks/buses will be lifting under the wheels (i.e. 4-post drive-on lift) or the shop will have a drive over pit for servicing trucks/buses.

You are correct that weight should be on the wheels when the king pins are greased.
