ftv37 Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Richland,Or Posts: 66	Need to replace the starter in the genny in our 86 Elandan ,but I've never done one on a gennerator. Any tips or tricks or photos for removal __________________

billr30656 Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Albany, Louisiana Posts: 76	I removed mine from underneath through the holes in the case. I had it rebuilt at a local shop. It was much cheaper than replacing it. I was suprised that they had parts on hand for it. It's was very easy. I had to remove the fuel pump to do it. If you have an ONAN the starters are very cheaply made with plastic bendix parts.
