Onan 4kw

Need to replace the starter in the genny in our 86 Elandan ,but I've never done one on a gennerator. Any tips or tricks or photos for removal

I removed mine from underneath through the holes in the case. I had it rebuilt at a local shop. It was much cheaper than replacing it. I was suprised that they had parts on hand for it. It's was very easy. I had to remove the fuel pump to do it. If you have an ONAN the starters are very cheaply made with plastic bendix parts. Removing it was very easy, especially if your rear jacks work.
