We are looking at buying our first coach (97 Pace Arrow Vision) and found a couple issues with an otherwise nice condition unit. The Genset will not start. It is an Onan 5000 marquis. It cranks over strong, checked motorhome gas gauge, shows full tank. It has 310 hrs on it.
Through research on this forum I suspect a carb problem or fuel pickup tube problem. My main question is.... what is considered low, average, or high hours on a genset?

Oh yeah it's a gasoline generator

if it is similar to mine,
the on-off switch on the genny should have a prime position, it primes by holding the switch in the off position. this runs the electric fuel pump.
make sure that the oil level is ok.
310 hours is very low usage. my genny had 49 hrs when i bought it in 2006, 69 hrs now. the genny should be exercised at least monthly for a minimum of a 1/2 hour at full load.

How much gas is in the tank. If it is below 1/4 to 1/2, the pickup for the gene won't work.
