I have seen several posts re: onan brushes. How do I access them? Mine is a 5500 Emerald 01 year. 240 hrs on the clock.

hi..under rv systems and appliances do a search for brushes, author rv wizard..there is a link explaining where they are..i followed it and found easy to do..jim

Thanks. I'll give it a look this morning. I did see the two wires going into a white plastic fitting that could be the brush block. I have been trying to find a parts manual on-line that would have a picture. In any case thanks, I'll post results. Marv

Marv, that is it. Remove the air cleaner housing for easier access. Remove the retainer bolt and disconnect the two connectors. Take some contact cleaner and clean the brushes, blow the stator out with air. Should be good to go after that.
