I am looking for a replacement Onan forum as the Funroads forum is closed. My 7.5kw HDKAJ is giving me problems. It starts and runs for 5 -8 seconds then stops. Last week I got a code "33". Yesterday it was a code "34". I can't get in to see my favorite RV serviceman for 3 weeks and he is not a recommended Onan service center. I am trying to avoid the 2+ hour trip to the nearest Onan repair facility in the Summer heat as the dash air doesn't put out enough.
Any guidance/suggestions would be appreciated.

Gary

Gary, the fault code 33 is for a high temp reading . IF the cooling system is functioning properly then you will find you have a bad temperature sending unit. This is a common failure and is located in the rear area on top of the engine. The fault code 34 is a high inverter temperture problem. This does happen this time of year with the hot air recirculating back through the generator. It looks like the summer heat is taking it toal on not only yours but many others this summer.

Hi Mike,
An update to the Onan error codes:
Seems the "33" code was a 3 - 3 indicating there was a stored code. I learned to press "off" and wait .
The actual code was "34". Took the coach to Cummins Power Systems where they diagnosed a failed inverter/converter. As this repair requires r & r of the generator, Cummins/Onan will have the coach for a week.
Thanks for the reply.

Gary
