Onan Marques 5500 gas fuel filter change

Got the new filter and new adapter that goes to carb.
My question is do I need to add anything to protect for leaks or can I install right out of box? It has some red bonding (probably locktie)
Also any tips to help with installation?
Thanks

Put the Lock-tight on threads and tighten mount as you see filter mounted now.
Use two wrench's to not brake fitting into carb.

Note that some year models have two filters. My 2004 does, one on the input to the fuel pump and one at the carburetor. I don't recall when they switched to just one.

On rereading your post - is the adapter on the carb to replace the second filter there?

Clay L,
Onan was having problems with filter at carb. leaking. I changed oil and filter the other day. When I started generator from generator location I noticed fuel leaking? Went online, this forum & RV.Net search read about problem. Then called Onan and rep told me that they changed (deleted) filter at carb. and added adaptor. Only one filter now.
Hope this helps.
