Outside Shower Spews Water

I have a 2000 Dolphin. Can anyone tell me why there is a small hole at the top of the fitting where the hose screws on? When you turn on the shower on, water comes streaming out that hole and sprays all over the compartment. I thouht it might have been a crack. It's not. It's a small circular hole about 1/16 inch in diameter.

Its an anti-siphon connection if you could attach the hose direct it would be better more likely the rubber flapper rotted or not align

If you fill the hole, you lose the anti-syphon feature. Since the anti-syphon valve is leaking, the pressurized water may find somewhere else in the faucet housing to escape.

I don't see any problem, drive a small stainless screw into it we temporary sealed leaks on copper and pvc the same way before major repairs and thats under 40 plus pounds of pressure (water)

Well, I got the proper fix. The part that comes off the faucet and the shower hose mounts to, is called a Vacuum Breaker. A replacement part is made by Phoenix Products for $4.99.

I'll install the fitting and see what happens.
