I am looking for an outside thermometer that I can add to my MH. Ideally it would be similar to a "factory" car thermometer that has a sensor in the grill with a display on the dashboard. Do you know if anyone sells this sort of after market thermometer?

I have seen the ones that stick to the window. Can't use while traveling. Also, the ones I have seen with the remote sensor seem to be for "home" use and would not hold up in the exterior MH environment (wet/debris).

Cheers

There are many like that which have the temp reading in the rear view mirror. They are normally $250-$300. You'll find one at campingworld.com like that.

Last December I bought a Wayfinder V2020 compass and temp device for my toad. It shows inside and outside temp and compass. I spent a little over $100 for mine online. It is especially neat as it is wireless, so you don't have to do any wiring at all! I just did a google search for "Wayfinder" and then added "thermometer" and found one place you can find it ...I'm sure there are many others who sell it too ... www.thecompassstore.com/v2020.html

Winnebago makes a great unit. It's standard in the Adventurer. Just go to your local Winny dealer and have the parts guy order you one. I had one as OEM in my 2003 Suncruiser and when I got the Bus I ordered another one for it.

I found a unit in an electronics store. LaCrosse Technology brand (same company supplies Weather Channel brand) shows outside and inside temp, plus has "atomic" clock and date function - $14. It is wireless and I can put the outside temp sensor about anywhere.

Also have a "Wayfinder" electronic compass that also has a wireless outside temp sensor I will secure up under the front bumper or grill. Found it on ebay for $25. I may not know where I am, but I will at least know where I am going.

Cruzer, can you remember the part number of the Winneago product, and the cost?

ACtually it's made for Winny by ATC - here's the link to that site: Click This Link.

But, I bought mine from Lichtsinn Motors - the big Winnebago/Itasca dealer in Forest City, IA. The part nbr is 136119-01-000 but I don't remember the cost. Call Lonnie in the parts department at 1 (800) 343-6255 and he'll shoot you a price.

Mark, did it not come as even an option from Bob Tiffin?

Unfortunately, not. Tiffin offered the optional rear view mirror with the compass/temp inside but, after having the ATC unit in my Itasca Suncruiser, I didn't want the mirror type.

P.S. I also liked the red LED alarm clock in my Suncruiser, which was made by JRV Products so I ordered one of them and built a small cherry box to install it on my nightstand. . I guess now I have an Allegro SunBus.
