Any Canadians or other foreigners have experience with the Montana LLC thing ? I just had National Interstate cancel the insurance on my Montana registered RV held in an LLC, because my wife and I are Canadian "Citizens" We do not live in Canada nor hold Canadian Drivers licenses but apprently the offending fact was that we were Citizens of Canada non resident or not. This is notwithstanding the fact that one of the other LLC members is an American. I thought the whole purpose of registering it in an LLC is that the company owns it not the members. And the company is a Montana company not a Canadian Citizen. Several insurance reps I got quotes from assured me that the correct answer is that the company is not Canadian because it has Canadian shareholders. It is and always will be American. They were shocked to find we had been canceled by National Interstate and told us that they had many Canadian people owning and insuring RV's through American LLC's. I suspect that they do not realize that if they ever need to settle a claim they will find that National Interstate will deny them because they are Canadian Citizens.
