P30 Auto Park System

Hello fellow RV'ers,
I've recently just purchased my first used A class RV, and have now experienced my first major problem. My Auto Park system was taking longer than it should to disengage the braking system, so after speaking with my neighbor he check and found the reservoir. Assuming that it was a braking system, he added brake fluid to the system. About 3 weeks later, I had the same problem, however the AP system would not disengage the brakes. I then checked underneath the RV and discovered a puddle forming under the pump area. After looking online, I believe it's the actuator, as that is where the stream of fluid appears to be coming from. There appears to be a shaft looking item going into the center of the actuator. It appears to be leaking where both of these items connect at the bottom. Does the actuator need to be rebuilt, or is there an o-ring I can buy to fix it? Would the brake fluid damages any internal gaskets? Currently my RV is sitting half way down my driveway and I did have my first camping trip planned. If I do need to replace the actuator, I know I can't get a rebuild in 3 days, so is there a way to disengage the system so I can at least get it to the campground and block the wheels to stop it from rolling until I get it fixed? I do have a neighbor who is a mechanic, but is not very familiar with RV's, so he is still looking into how to free up the system as well. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

It is a hydraulic system, you should have added hydraulic fluid, not brake fluid. You might try just flushing the system and then adding the correct fluid.

When our cylinder was leaking fluid, I removed it and took it to a local hydraulic repair shop and they rebuilt on the spot and it has been dry ever since and it was actually a fairly cheap repair.

Roger's the best autopark pro I've ever seen. So glad your in touch with him, he had a bout with prostate cancer and I didn't know his condition.

You are quoting a post from 2012.

CURRENT info from his daughter is that Roger is no longer able to respond to emails. SHE is trying to keep his autopark library website up and running (it goes down frequently) so that owners can access the info there, but we should not expect any responses from inquiries sent to Roger by email. I think you said he is 97 now.

I realize this thread was started 8 years ago and your current information is correct.
I have had a problem with my Auto Park and I contacted Alan at:
https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/
He was very helpful and knowledgeable. They also stock parts for the system.
Yes, Roger was the man back when he was able to help and offer advice. I had a lengthy dialog with him about the AP system shortly after I bought my coach in 2015. His advice saved my planned vacation that summer.

I do need to correct one word of my post. It should say "SHE" said he is 97, NOT "you". My bad, Ed

It's amazing how time fly's. Roger and I use to email back and forth a ways back. I remember he had the blowing spark plug issue, and instead of doing just the one plug he did the insert job on all ten cylinders. He was a good mechanic. I almost got to meet him in person, then something came up. Wish that autopark library could be saved for posterity.

Depending on the type of files maybe someone could get a copy of the information from his daughter and ensconce it somewhere available to the folks here or the general public. I can't think of where right now but someone will likely come up with an answer.

Auto park info

Just for your records. If you go to the top of the page in the Workhorse Chassis room on this forum you will find a link to "Workhorse Important Discussions". Scroll down to #27 for "Auto Park J-71 for P 32.
You will find a whole lot of information there also.
