Painting logo by hand anyone?

I was thinking of painting over my fade decal on the MH, using the old outline to guide me. Just the logo. Note sure of type of paint. Has anyone tried this? Good / Bad results? Suggestions?

Some folks have had pretty good results with a good cleaning, very light sanding, masking, and then Krylon Spray Paint ... Krylon Fusion seems popular.

Two years ago I was faced with a severely weathered logo decal. I stripped it off with an eraser rubber wheel, applied the tapes, and painted it. I used all automotive supplies and the base coat/clear coat paint finish. The pictures roughly show some of the details. The outdoor weather was a key factor in the planning. I shopped for a new custom decal, but found that it wouldn't be an exact replacement due to size/shape/text style variables. So, since paint is more durable, it was painted. It was not difficult, but because of the art work it did take some time to complete. I have painted cars so I had the tools and spray guns.

Nice job! Is that special tape, will just blue painters tape work? Seems like it would be hard to do the tight curves.

The blue tape is a narrow pin stripping tape and able to bend tightly. It defines the shape, the yellow tape is a general more broad mask. These are specific automotive painting tapes. The blue painters tape, that you refer to, have a lower tack strength and tend to let go when exposed to the automotive paint & thinners. Also the automotive tapes I used do not leave an adhesive residue when exposed to heat, ie direct sun or curing heat lamps.

Visit your local automotive paint store, describe to them what you wish to do, and they will guide you to the supplies you will need.

Or, if you can find a sign painter that does marine work (names on boats) they are very good and usually not outrageous .... check a marina if you are near one.

Many professional painters use One Shot for lettering and pinstriping, it's made expressively for this purpose. I've used it myself and it flows very easily. You would definately need to clear over it though.
