painting over RV original wall covering help

With remodeling and decorating the interior of the rig its time to look at painting over the original interior walls with the original stick on vinyl wall covering... What type/kind/brand of household paints are the best to use?

Any specific surface preparation that's different to the norm of stick N brick house painting?

What have you used?

Valspar has a paint and primer combo we used and it works great. Got it from Lowes

Kilz or SHielz work great for a base coat.

We tried wallpaper in the BR and that failed miserably. Then we were told to and used Kilz primer first, then your favorite paint over that. Worked great for us.

I would probably pre-coat with "Kilz" before I applied a finish paint. I have always had good luck with it.
