Parking brake

My Parking Brake is out of adjustment, any isea how to take up the slck on this unit which I believe is on the rear transmission - driveshaft. Is there a simple way to adjust the shoes?

Well.. many Motor Homes that is indeed where it is. How to adjust however depends on the make and model.. Some of them are very easy and can be adjusted, believe it or not, from the driver's seat (I've been in trucks where I did that) others you need wrenches and crawl under the unit... Often just laying the old mark one eyeball will show you something.

Look for an oblong rubber plug in the fixed plate on the brakes.. It might just be a star wheel behind that plug. same as rear brakes on many cars (my own included) Then again.. it might not.. Can also be a bolt in that same location.

If all else fails, find someone who works on your chassis and ask them.

do you have disc or drum brakes on the rear wheels?

if you have drums, the adjustment is probably on the cable to each rear wheel.

my moho has the parking brake drum on the drive shaft behind the tranny. there is no adjustment on the cable or a hole in the drum for adjustment.
i learned from this forum to remove the parking brake actuating clevis pin and thread the clevis in about 1/4 inch thus effectively shortening the cable. my parking brake works ok now.

the threaded clevis on my moho was at the end of the cable on the parking brake assembly.
